North Ayrshire Conservatives vote for a 0% increase in Council Tax.
At the Budget setting meeting of the council on Wednesday, the Conservatives put up a motion for a 0% increase in Council Tax as happened last year. This was made possible since the Council received an extra £1.7 million from the Scottish Government and together with a small sum of £0.4 million from the reserves would have meant that the Council Tax did not need to increase.
Cllr Marshall said;
“However the Labour Party and the SNP decided otherwise and proposed spending the £1.7 million on a collection of windmills and solar farms down in Irvine. Their argument was this would reduce energy bills. A dubious claim.
"Our view was that the extra money being spent would’ve been better left in the pockets of the man and woman in the street to spend on their own needs.“
Just shows that the Socialists would rather spend your money rather than let you.
