The Scottish Conservatives have seen an incredible double digit increase in vote share in both North Ayrshire & Arran and Central Ayrshire constituencies in the General Election. In North Ayrshire & Arran, David Rocks overhauled Labour to take second place with a 16.4% increase in the vote to secure 14,818 votes - now just 3,633 behind the SNP, who previously enjoyed a 13,573 majority over Labour in 2015. Turnout was 64.8%, down slightly on the 71.1% in 2015.
in Central Ayrshire, Caroline Hollins also overtook Labour to take second place with a 17.1% increase in the vote to take 15,504 votes. The SNP majority in Central Ayrshire was cut to 1,267, having previously been 13,589 over Labour. Turnout was also down slightly at 65.3%, from 72.5% in 2015.
