West Scotland MSP Jamie Greene, reiterated at the March 29 meeting of the Rural Economy and Connectivity Committee his requests for a decision from the Transport Minister on the fate of the Arran Ferry Service.
Responding to Humza Yousaf’s response that a decision could be “weeks and weeks away” Mr Greene underlined that a faster decision is needed to give certainty to Ardrossan and Arran.
Mr Greene commented: “The recent STAG report was clear in its finding, Ardrossan should remain the homeport for the Arran ferry service. Mr Yousaf needs to make a final decision on the future of the very service quickly, the uncertainty is damaging to the local economy and people who rely on the current service for work need absolute clarity on the matter.”
“This matter has dragged on for too long. I will continue to press Humza Yousaf and the Scottish Government to make a firm decision on the matter.”
