Local MSP Jamie Greene today warned of unsustainable pressures on GPs.
This follows a report by the British Medical Association in Scotland that found Scottish GPs are warning of increasing pressures on the job.
Mr Greene commented: “General practice needs to be properly managed, we need at least 10% of health funding to go into general practice by 2020 so that GPs can cope with present and future demands. that is quite clear from the latest report.”
“The SNP have poorly planned out our health service over many years and the results are beginning to show. After weeks of poor health statistics this is extremely bad news for the Scottish Government.”
“This is particularly worrying for people in my region who rely on frontline services so much. Our hospitals are already struggling to cope. The last thing we need is a GP crisis.”
