The North Ayrshire and Arran Conservatives have selected their candidate for the forthcoming General Election.
Jamie Greene will be the party’s candidate in the forthcoming General Election on May 7.
Jamie, 34, was born and brought up in Greenock, Inverclyde and went to school and college in the area. He worked locally at IBM for a spell before moving into the media industry where he was a TV producer for ten years working across the UK and overseas including stints at the BBC. He subsequently worked in a number of small entrepreneurial media businesses and more recently as a senior executive for a large multinational broadcast network. His family still lives in the Greenock and Gourock areas.
Jamie said “This General Election is vital to the ongoing success of Scotland and Britain. We have less than three months to save Scotland from years of division, mismanagement and regression.
Looking at the choice facing the people of North Ayrshire and Arran – it’s hard to tell the difference between the Labour and the SNP candidates as each scrambles to be more left wing than the other. Whilst they fight each other in North Ayrshire and Arran their party leaders plot coalition together in Westminster.
Remember, the SNP’s sole aim is the break-up of the UK, a vote for either the SNP or Labour will be an inevitable catastrophe for Scotland. If you voted NO in the referendum then only a vote for the Conservatives will ensure the preservation of the Union.
If, like me, you are pro-business, pro-employment and extremely concerned that the SNP or Labour parties will financially cripple us then the Scottish Conservative Party is the only true and sensible centre right party on the ballot.
The contrast in this election is stark and clear - It’s a choice between a strong future for Scotland under the Conservatives, or chaos with anyone else.”
The selection meeting was held in the Barony Centre, West Kilbride on Saturday 14th February 2015.
