Conservative Councillor Tom Marshall and Richard Wilkinson, local Tory Chairman, campaigned in Largs on Saturday, 30th August, to carry the NO campaign message onto the street. With just 20 days to go till the Referendum which will decide Scotland's future, they spoke to many people, handed out leaflets and responded to requests for window posters and badges. Notably, young people expressed support for NO saying that they saw more opportunities for their futures in the United Kingdom. Tom and Richard also spoke to many visitors to the town who will be voting in other areas of the West of Scotland. Many visitors from other parts of the UK offered their support and stated that they hoped that the UK would stay united and not be split up.
