Toni met with the consultants last week to discuss the proposed development of
Largs prom and Main Street in her role as a Business Improvement District (BID)
director and indiviudal business owner. She says “This area is an
outdated town centre eyesore and desperately in need of redevelopment. At
present it is overgrown with weeds, scattered with commercial bins and is only
attractive to seagulls conditioned to being fed there”.

Toni went on to say that significant investment such as this will benefit so many
people living, working and visiting the area. These initial meetings aim to bring
all the ideas to the table before compiling draft proposals for public consultation,
hopefully around January.
Toni concluded “ We have rich historical connections around the North Coast and
this could be communicated in a much more contemporary way encouraging the
younger, and more digitally aware, generation to fully appreciate our culture and
heritage. I urge the community to really get involved in this consultation as well
as the proposed heritage project for Millport as we are entering a really exciting
phase of opportunity for everyone to have their say”.
“If elected on Thursday, I will give this initiative 100% support”.
