Largs Station Second Worst in Scotland for Rail Delays Figures Reveal
Just only 31.2 per cent of trains arrived on time at Largs station in the last month. This is the second worst record in Scotland, with only Milngavie station in East Dunbartonshire scoring worse.
West Regional MSP, Jamie Greene who is also the Shadow Transport Minister, said that these figures were unacceptable and went far beyond what can be considered reasonable delays. He vowed to raise the issue with Transport Minister Humza Yousaf MSP in his next meeting with him.
Jamie Greene MSP commented:
“Largs residents will accept that some delays are inevitable when running a rail network and most will appreciate that, however people will be dismayed to learn that two thirds of trains arrive into Largs late. This goes beyond what can be considered reasonable delays.
“Largs station is a major hub for commuters and a lifeline service for many. Commuters rely on regular trains to go about their daily business and it is disappointing that, so few trains arrive at their scheduled time.
“The Transport Minister needs to get a grip on the situation and start making immediate improvements to the service because quite frankly this isn’t good enough.”
