The scrapping of this policy is a victory for common sense.
The Named Persons Scheme has been flawed from the start and subject to significant delay after its original provisions were found to not be workable.
It’s been clear to most people that this legislation was not the way forward and intruded on family privacy.
The Scottish Conservatives have been campaigning for four years to get the SNP to scrap the hated Named Persons Scheme.
We’ve been talking to teachers, social workers and, most importantly, parents and are glad that the Scottish Government has finally listened to our calls.
